Electronics engineer salary in the Philippines
One of the well-known engineering fields is electronics & communications engineering. They are abbreviated as ECE in the Philippines. We should also take a look at what makes it one of the engineering fields many students are aspiring to. Specifically, its average monthly salary.
As far as I know, ECEs have a compensation slightly higher than other engineers such as Industrial Engineers, Civil engineers, Electrical Engineers, and Mechanical Engineers.
Take a look at the table below after explaining Who ar Electronics Engineers, and what do they do for a living.
Who are Electronics and Communications Engineer
Basically, Electronics and Communications Engineer (ECE) designs and maintains satellites. These satellites bring telephone and internet services into our places, especially in remote and rural areas.
Furthermore, They also create advanced communication facilities and develop programs for various control and communication systems.
On the other hand, Electronics and Communication Engineering deal with electronic devices, communication equipment, and circuits. Also, it deals with basic electronics, analog and digital transmission and reception of data, voice and video, microprocessors, satellite comms, microwave engineering, and wave progression.
Electronics and Communications Engineer Average Monthly Salary – Philippines 2021
This data comes from Payscale, Salary, & Salary Expert.
To prove my earlier statement, entry-level ECEs have a higher entry-level salary compared to other engineering fields. As you can observe, they have ₱24,000 base average monthly salary up to a maximum of ₱27,000 average monthly salary.
In the US, Entry-Level ECEs have a $3,644 average monthly salary or ₱163,980. This salary can be maximized up to $5,785 or ₱260,325 of the average monthly salary.
Moving on to ECEs with more than 3 years of professional experience. In the Philippines, their average monthly salary is ₱28,000 or $622 up to ₱36,587 or $813. These figures are almost the same as other engineering professions.
On the other hand, ECEs who are employed in the US have an average monthly salary of $5,010 or ₱225,450. This salary can be maximized up to $7,261 or ₱326, 745 of the average monthly salary. They also have more than 3 years of professional experience.
For senior-level ECEs with more than 5 years of professional experience, here is the average monthly salary. In the Philippines, it is amounting to ₱45,000 or $1,000 up to ₱79,000 or $1,755 of average monthly compensation.
For ECEs employed in the US, they have an average monthly salary of $6.147 or ₱276,615 up to $9,062 or ₱407,790. They should also have at least 5 years of professional experience in managerial positions.

Skills for Electronics and Communications Engineer
Electronics engineers gain their compensation not because they have licenses, but because of the skills they have acquired after education and during their professional work.
But if you want to get a finer job, you should know these basic skills before applying for a job.
- Engineering Design
- It is the method that engineers use to solve and recognize problems. Engineering design is usually used for product development – from conceptualizing new product ideas, turning them into tangible engineered results.
- Project Management
- It is basically gathered through experience and proper education. When we say proper education, you should be able to attend seminars about project management or finishing a master’s degree in project management.
- Communication Skills
- The ability to explain complex processes of machines, and devices to people without formal knowledge about mechanical engineering. You should be able to deliver the idea by undergoing strong communication skills.
Final Remarks
To sum it up, entry-level electronics and communications engineer has an average monthly salary of ₱25,500. With more than 2 years of professional experience, they should have a ₱32,000 average monthly salary. Finally, electronics and communications engineers with more than 5 years of professional experience should have ₱62,000 of average monthly salary.
A 12% increase can be added to your salary if you have a master’s degree in electronics engineering or other allied engineering programs. For intermediate-level, 10% increase is expected, while 7% for senior-level with master’s degree.
