Lesson Planning is a combination of design, knowledge and ability to facilitate a lesson. It is the teachers’ tool with objectives and goals for the students to accomplish and learn the different ideas and concepts intended for the day. The specific topic needs to explore in teaching- learning cycle for the students. This includes specific target to be discussed, how it will be taught and how learning will be evaluated. It serves as an art of skills and competencies based from the curriculum design appropriated to the learners. Indeed, a plan is a weapon in the battlefield of teaching – learning fighting to win against illiteracy shielded with task performance in determining the best strategy for the development of cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspects of the learners.
There are components a plan should have. First, are the objectives, in this part the important lesson is involved. This portrays the processes and distinction of the goals suited in response to the needs and interest of one group who unite and collaborate with a purpose of attaining good results by demonstrating what they need to learn. Second is the description of the lesson, this focuses on the most relevant thought or ideas which can be shared meaningfully to the learners intended to the level of learners in gaining knowledge. Third, is the use of appropriate materials that is applicable on the style of learning. It should captivate the interest of the learners to become easy and enjoyable. Fourth, is the procedure, this pertains to the step-by-step pedagogy in the implementation of activities. Performances are in proper order and follow strategic pattern on the demonstration and explanation procedures. Interaction of teachers and learners in class are involved. Hence, Effective delivery of the lesson is expected. Fifth is the Conclusion wherein the insights learned are put together and distinguish the feedbacks as well to notify the remedial teaching needed. Last is the Assessment, it measures how effective the teaching- learning procedures and practices defining how students deeply engaged into the effective acquisition of knowledge and skills. Learners expose their potentials on how they acquire the insights presented and explained by the teachers from the start up to the last part of the lesson.
Achieving goals and having a clear vision are indications of effective measures and possible improvements as they happen inside the class. This involves the methodology of seeking out the intention to solve and ensure teaching learning be effective. This would be based from the appropriate practices use in different approaches addressing the needs encountered in the class.
Struggling learners should be taken into consideration when lesson planning is written. The methods to be used should be developmentally appropriate based on needs of the learners. Choosing task should be based on their style of learning. Sequencing of activities involved in a plan must be according to the ability of learning and engaging procedures. All these contributed in lesson planning and how important it is for every teacher and learner who will benefit in the plan.
Based on International Journal of Academic Research, there was an impact in planning of the lesson. This creates passion between teachers and learners thus enhance performance of all who aim to engage and deal with the proper use of planning design that resulted to quality learning among children. The actual scenario would exactly tell what to do and what to nurture in order to avoid vague issues and occurrence of complicated actions. Therefore, following pedagogies suited to the needs and perspective complete the desired outcome in lesson planning.
